Another shocking story... there are three teams in my league that do NOT use SE Greg Maddux. One of those uses 100 Maddux, but the other two are currently under investigation.

Huntley Red Raiders: Settled in at .500
The Huntley Red Raiders, purveyors of an at-first-coincidentally-but-now-purposely "cards obtained from collection missions/cards obtained to complete collection missions/cards obtained from packs" strategy, have comfortably settled into being an average Diamond team. No, seriously, take a look at how the team has fared upon its return to Diamond. Aside from that one playoff appearance, we are about as regressed to the mean as one can get!
Also, current rotation and lineups vs R and L pictured so all those who are frustrated with cookie-cutter SE teams can work out their vitriol on me. ![]()

The Jeff's are in the hunt in a tight 3 way. They are a fun team.

Nice come back from my angels after a win rate of .400 in the first two month, they are now at .531, chasing a spot for the WC.

Port Dawgs gave Honus Wager his unconditional release today. His negativity in the clubhouse was spreading to other players and was deemed unacceptable. Lou Bouderau 98 was picked up off of waivers and found himself firmly installed as the everyday SS.
Pete Rose 91 was also brought in to man 1B fulltime. This could effectively end the career of Buff Bagwell. Both Rose and Boudreau got off to a good start as they both hit homeruns in their first game wearing a Dawgs jersey. The rotation needed a shot in the arm as Bobo was starting to pitch like Bozo. Deacon Phillippe was brought in and makes his first start on the road in less than 14 minutes for the Dawgs. Todd Helton is still wondering what he did wrong to lose his place in the batting order after posting 292/363/447 numbers in 84 games. Welcome to the big leagues kid The Dawgs find themselves 1/2 out for the division lead with 7 to play and also have a 3 game lead in the 2nd and final WC spot..

Dawgs finish the season tied and then win the 1 game playoff to capture the division.
The Dawgs were the Cinderella team a year ago to win it all in Gold and have done well in their first foray into Diamond. They will be going up against a Goliath in their first round, hopefully they can play David as they did a year ago. Management is pleased with their effort so far ![]()

This was an entirely forgettable week for my teams. Neither of them made the show tonight, so I'm outta here for this week, and combined they posted a losing record. The Mets went a crummy 82-80 in Bronze, and I can't think of a way to turn that dismal roster around.
Well, that's not true. The current campaign is called "Saving for Seaver", the (98) one. He goes for roundabout 30k. Current PP total is 8,055. Donations can be made near the main entrance, thx. The Raccoons came a mediocre 77-85. They were never in the race, on neither end of the table and were a mediocre .475 team the entire season. At least they got enough PP to complete the live missions now. Any other missions just look unfeasible to me. There are some other SE cards that I would fancy, but if the composite cards cost 250k I might as well not bother. Packs only from here on out!

The Marathoners finally made it to .500 in Diamond with a 16-11 September. It looked to be another 78-84 season for what seemed to be the 37th season in a row.
We decided to buy 21 lottery tickets looking for a miracle and had about as worse luck as possible. At one point it was a 58-2 live to historical ratio, may have ended up with 5 or 6 total historical, with none over a bronze. We're pretty much to the point that any "upgrade" will cost 100K+. The YakAnglers made it to the playoffs in Gold with 93 wins and the top WC spot after nearly being relegated last season, with only a tiebreaker keeping them at Gold. No real upgrades except for Hudson and Sutton and using much better Gold defenders rather than big bat Diamonds. The hapless Battle Corgis (79-83) are still flopping around in Silver where they are perfectly happy to be and will probably remain for a long time. This team has still never pulled a Diamond and generates very little PP, making pack purchases few and far between. They did complete Billy Williams for a DH and Nathan as closer, so maybe there's a little light way ahead.

Mount Hawke survived again, alongside Lemandria's Pirates. Managed to add SE's Appling and Williams to hopefully sneak above .500 again next season.
KB won game 163 to top their division and get another shot at the playoffs in silver. Special mention for Cologne Wrath who lost that game and then 164 to miss the wildcard. The Grackles managed to be 20 games under .500 with only a -26 run diff. How can this be? This is how ![]()

The Colonels finished 76-86, but at least we were above .500 from May on. My two big acquisitions of the week, SS Joe Cronin and RF Tommy McCarthy, contributed little so I am hopeful that a full season from those two players will put us back on track.
I pulled a 100 Acuna Jr. from the 8 packs that I won overnight. That 20K puts me a bit closer to my next upgrade, which is probably still a couple of weeks away even with cash or another lucky pull. I will have some time to evaluate the roster before deciding where to upgrade next, but I think another position player would be more useful than a pitcher at this stage. |

The Dawgs are down 2-0 against a powerhouse. Daunting task to avoid being swept at home. Maddux will take the hill to avoid the clean sweep. Given the other teams 100's up and down the rotation and lineup, might be wishful thinking.
However these Dawgs were down 3-0 in the finals last year so.......

I won my division easily but I'm down 0-2 in the playoffs and got crushed in both games. It seems like it doesn't matter how well my team performs in the regular season it never translates to the playoffs.

Paragon City Heroes struggled all season, but managed to avoid relegation, bringing in Dan Brouthers as DH for next season to try to score some runs
Lowdown Lugnuts went 76-86 in their 1st season in Diamond, led the league in most defensive categories, but when 68 Ozzie and 79 Bruce Petway are 2 and 3 on your team in WAR you know you need to step it uo. Sisler had his usual 30/30 season. trying to bring in a new CF if we sell some players San Angeles 70s made the playoffs in gold for the 2nd time, but won the WC game this time, currently 2-1 up in the Division Series which would result in the serial sub 500 gold team getting promoted

Wasn't to be for the Dawgs. Nolan Ryan my heart attack closer gave up a 2 run bomb in extra innings to send the Dawgs to the golf course. 3 IP and he struck out 6 lol And the bomb
Looks like the team that I beat in the 1 game playoff and sent to the WC game is on the verge of making it to the finals. I think I screwed up and should have lost to be the WC ![]()

Longview Woodchucks finished 75-87, 11 games out in 4th place in the AC East and staying Bronze. David Price had a no-hitter in June. Craig Kimbrell had an awful season with an ERA knocking on 7 (I think it was a fluke). Upgrading CF to Springer...let's see if that helps to start Season 17.
Nacogdoches Jacks finished 87-75, three games out of the wildcard race and seven games out of the NC Central, good enough for third place. Upgrading 1B and 2B to Diamond....you would think a team with seven diamonds and the rest being gold, you would be somewhere other then stuck in a Stone. Then there are the Neffin-neffs....who ran aground against a Pacific whale, finishing 64-98, 78 games back...yes, I did say 78 games back...and will be relegated back to Iron in season 17. Two perfect cards, four diamonds and no luck. The Witts both finished 9-16 and Brandon Woodruff lost 21. Hopefully, upgrading three starting pitchers and two outfielders will help. Bobby Witt(less) will be moved to the 'pen. Let's see how it goes.

McCarthy should provide a significant return. Seems to be a fast 300 hitter that is excellent defensively. He is a 102 in LF if you move him there.

After coming back from being down 0-2 to win the division series we were down 2-3 in NLCS and came back and won the series to move on to the finals. We won game 7 on a walk off HR in the bottom of the 9th by Robinson Cano, his 3rd HR of the game.
