try downloading openoffice and cutepdf? They're free.
*disclaimer* may not work. |

PS: Is it sad that I'm reading the manual for entertainment until I can afford the game?

i guessed from the way he said "buying word or installing Adobe" that he had non-financial reasons for not using it... :/

I remember thinking, Game Guide, what the heck am I going to do with a game guide?
The words Game Guide are now burned into the bottom part of my monitor. I dont think I have closed it since I downloaded it. |

cuddos to Battists... this is by far the most helpful and comprehensive game guide ever...
if i can suggest a few possible enhancements to pull everything into one place (especially for the newer, or recently returned after an OOTP layoff, players... * a short description / explanation of how to customize logo's... naming, sizing, etc * same as above for player photos * same as above for stadiums * if it doesn't violate any copy rights or licenses, a descrition of how to use the more common player data bases I know most of this info can be found, with some searching, in the forums, but it is nice to have it all in one place |

If you mean Adobe Acrobat Reader... 7? That is free, FROM Adobe. Not Google. |

And, unfortunately as well, we are forbidden from referencing the common player databases. |

Add my kudos as well for the terrific manual and game guide.
One more broken link in the game guide I don't think was mentioned yet (Sorry for posting this also in the TS forum. I didn't realize this thread was here. (And it was a sticky! Go figure! :P)) Anyway, quoting myself from that thread: "On page 70 of the game guide, at the bottom of the table, where the description of the "Show & use player personality ratings" option is described, there is a line that says: "See Section Error! Reference source not found. for more information on player personalities." Apparently there is a broken html link there." Last edited by OakDragon; 06-03-2006 at 02:50 AM. |

Add another vote to the excellent game guide column. I downloaded the guide to see if I wanted to save up my pesos to buy the game. Didn't take nearly as long to read as I thought. Nice job man.

One more minor quibble: "game"
One thing I found occasionally confusing about the manual and game guide was the special use of the word "game" as it was applied to OOTP. It was often used to mean an instance of OOTP that we play... i.e. what we have been calling on the boards an OOTP "universe". In my opinion, it would be better to use the word "universe" for this in the manuals, too, because "game" already has a specific and frequently used meaning in sports and sports sims that automatically comes to mind when we hear the word. Occasionally one has to stop and think for a moment when reading to realize that an OOTP "universe" is being referred to.
...Just something you might want to consider changing when you have nothing better to do. lol. |
