this is one of the (many) things i have tried without success - uninstalling 24, uninstalling 25, then reinstalling 25. same errors. i can't find any trace of 24 on my HD, but it seems like something behind the scenes in 25 is still pointing to the wrong place(s) somehow.

just rolled over into the new calendar year in my league, so it generated the almanac. as i should have expected, I'm getting these errors during almanac creation as well.

Thanks, you've saved me having to do this today - appreciated. I'm giving serious consideration to rolling back to OOTP 24 because I am increasingly convinced there is a setting I can't change in 25 pointing to the wrong place.

no problem. i actually decided to try this one more time simply because this is driving me so nuts.

- only thing installed is 25
- uninstall 25 through steam
- delete ALL vestige of folders and files including "out of the park" or "ootp"
- restart pc
- fresh install of 25 through steam
- grab league file
- try uploading reports

same errors in the same place. i'm starting to wonder if there is something in the league files themselves telling the game to look in the wrong place for the templates.

That would make sense. I'm going to ask a co-commissioner to try simming and see if the issue follows the league file - sounds like it will.

Thank you for checking in on this thread. Are there any updates at all? I am part of this league and no one who runs our (daily) sims can progress forward using OOTP 25. We're hoping to get moving soon as others in the league are getting a bit impatient.

i'm still in the same limbo as mike above - we're almost through the offseason, creeping up to the season opener, and reports are dead in the water for us until we get some help here.

as the commissioner of the league where this is occurring, i'm the one catching all the heat from my managers, so any help would be much appreciated.

My league has to manually enforce a Rule 5 draft roster freeze, since the game won't do it for us (I have logged this as a feature request).

Without the ability to see transaction logs, this is going to be impossible to enforce, as we can't see who has made illegal 40-man roster moves.

Is this getting looked at? Not having access to any logs (news, draft, injury, transaction) is close to a show-stopper for online leagues.

I have only gotten the error messages I posted earlier in this thread (that others are also getting) once lately. I wasn't able to resolve it by restoring a backup, like the last few times I experienced it.

Last night I was able to sim a week in my league and the reports were created without errors, however the log reports (transaction, news, injury, etc.) were missing. I have never been able to create those reports since upgrading to OOTP 25.

Do you want to track that as a separate issue, Lukas? I had opened a separate ticket weeks ago about the missing logs in reports.

I'm not sure if the two issues are related or not. Both deal with generating reports in OOTP 25.

OK, we found some issues and hopefully should have some fixes on this for the next patch.

It seems to be related to those online leagues which are still running with the old text files, and not the in-game sql DB for storing files. I believe that converting to the in-game SQL DB (from the database tab, you can hit the last button on the right hand column), I think that should prevent the errors from happening.

Answering my own question: I was able to verify that doing these steps were able to generate the missing log files.

  • Click on Edit… next to the last line “This saved game uses text files instead of the database engine to save the text data”
  • Click OK on “Are you sure?” (assuming you backed up your league folder before starting the game and this process)
  • It will take a few minutes to Import everything, and then give an Info box saying something like “Successfully imported all text files into the new text database. Deleted all text files without errors.”

Did the patch and the fix sort this problem?

My plan is to migrate to v25 in my league's next off season and need to know if this known issue has been resolved.
