Exclamation OOTP 25 Patch (Version 25.9.90) Released!

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 25 versions which were purchased directly from our webstore or resellers who use our Fastspring / QLM version. Steam users, please update from within the Steam client. If you used the Steam private beta password yesterday, make sure to opt out of the beta and restart the Steam client, that should trigger the update.

Hi everybody!

Thanks for the feedback on the public beta. We are releasing the patch officially today, incrementing the build number to version 25.9.90.

Note to online league members: This patch is compatible between versions.

Changelist 25.9.90:
  • Updated default rosters, need to start a new game for changes to apply
  • Fixed teams too aggressively releasing young players
  • Updated Fan Interest calculations (more lenient to new signings)
  • Updated injury prone calculations, only impacts players moving forward
  • More lenient to smaller/random injuries
  • Slight adjustment of prone ratings calculation based on injury settings (playing on high injury should cause each injury to have slightly smaller impact on prone calculations)
  • Updated in-game ball difficulty/position impact of OF
  • Fixed 2025+ game schedules start dates
  • Fixed historical exhibition incorrect stats/strategy year default
  • Fixed OSA rescouting players too frequently
  • Updated in-game RP usage to avoid players having extended stretches without playing
  • Fixed Live Update players having stats on wrong teams
  • Fixed CSV export for PBABIP
  • Adjusted some development speeds
  • Young players should develop to moderate ratings faster
  • Slightly reduced aggressive talent shifts
  • Reduced velocity decline
  • PT: Fixed PP balance not updating on buy orders
  • PT: Fixed crash adding players to card combinator attempts
  • PT: Support for new tournament modes
  • PT: Misc UI improvements
  • PT: Added option to hide completed missions in card shop mission dropdown
  • PT: Misc places noting duplicates
  • PT: Added “Last Opened Packs” page
  • PT: Added Limited Edition page to show how many copies remain of active LE cards


Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

They aren't likely to have a complete changelog as they fix/adjust all kinds of small things constantly.

Rosters have not been updated

The new release has Tony Kemp on the roster. The orioles roster has not been update since day 1.

I have not had one update on my rosters. I play with the Orioles they still have Tony Kemp on the roster he has not been with the team since the beginning of the season

The rosters for the Standard setup will remain the Opening Day rosters.

You can choose the "Live Start" option to start further into the season with accurate rosters/standings for those dates.

The roster updates in the patch have to do with ratings, previous season stat lines, biographical stuff, etc.

Are you loading the default roster? That one should always have Kemp. If you want an up-to-date roster you can use the live start

Or is Kemp still on the live start?

You can do this by creating daily lineups.

This feature allows you to set lineups two month ahead.

Far, far more than we could post here.

Just some basic overview info, the British NBL was updated, hundreds of complex level players were added/and or had ratings adjusted and hundreds of other players had their ratings adjusted as well. Plus lots of other random assorted adjustments and tweaks, as in every update.

Don't know if the recent update is causing this or if a more long standing issue but the AI is making a dogs breakfast with who to put at SS.
Live start and sim to opening day 2025 on default settings and a whole host of natural SS have been moved to 2nd/3rd and replaced by below average fielders who would be far better suited to 2nd maybe 3rd.
STL - Fermin at SS, Winn 2nd
MIN Farmer/Correa
NYY Spencer Steer/Volpe
SEA Haggerty /Crawford
WSH Monasterio/Abrams
NYM Iglesis/Lindor

TOR- sign both eugenio suarez and IKF and play suarez at SS, IKF 2nd!

Something must be up to see this many examples.

just ran my online league's first sim after updating the version to this patch. the simulation went fine but there is a much, much longer duration for generating and uploading the reports and CSV. It's been working on it for close to an hour at this point. I'm not certain that it's this patch specifically, but the simulation I ran 4 days ago didn't have this issue (all other things the same).

As far as I know we did not change anything in regard to generating reports.

Even after the latest patch, pitchers in their mid-20s with no injury issues seem to have a slight decline in velocity, is this by design? When you say “Reduced” velocity decline in the patch announcement, does that mean that you've made an state where the velocity decline isn't as severe as in the last patch, but there is some decline unlike the early version with little decline?

I imagine that is by design. On average, pitchers max velocity comes in their early to mid-20's in real life also.

That's right, but I couldn't be sure if it is intended because of this.
