Two Stadium Questions

Two questions about custom ballparks.

1. I am having a truly bizarre number of 500 ft. plus homeruns. I assume it is because there are teams playing in these old stadiums with huge distances, and the game is just using some math that uses the dimension + x for total HR distance. As an example, Muehlebach Field is 550+ to CF. I like seeing all that green grass, as that's what the stadium was. So I'm wondering if I pulled the distance in to something more normal, if there would be any impacts, either on the behavior of the 3D models, or homeruns falling "within play" or anything like that?

Anyone know?

Anyone have a better suggestion on how to cut down on the 500 ft plus moonshots?

From an earlier thread.

List is about halfway down this page: https://wbl.dmlco.com/wp/wbl-year-ii-statistics/

Note that, per https://www.mlb.com/news/longest-hom...ast-c293547722, since 2016 there have been ... three. And none over 510ft.
2. Anyone know a way to set the default view for a stadium? I know how to do it at the start of a game, but the default isn't preserved from game to game. I'd like to set it once for each stadium, then not have to do it again each time.

As always, all help much appreciated!

Re: HR distance

If you enter 1200 feet as the distance to your fences, you'll see a lot of 1200+ foot home runs. It's been stated before (in some long distant post I can't locate now) that the fence distance for parks isn't directly utilized...ballpark factors are.

So this is now a little weirder. League Park's dimensions are below. CF is 420ft away with a 10ft wall; RCF is 400 with a 20ft wall.

https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/knrxc...l13ai2f0j&dl=0

Ron Blomberg (power ratings in the 400s) just hit not one, but 2 500 ft+ homeruns in a game there.

So maybe it's not the park dimensions causing this?

Another one: Bryce Harper sending a pitch 509 ft in an unmodified Fenway Park. Again, something is up here.

I hope an explanation/solution is forthcoming. Meanwhile, let me applaud you for being so gracious when reporting issues. No hyperbole, no histrionics. Hats off to you, sir.

Thanks, I really appreciate it.

I am concerned, of course, that attention to issues that are raised correlates to how loudly you scream, which would be a shame ...

I actually think there might be an inverse relationship. "The squeaky wheel gets removed from the axle, in favor of a wheel that does not squeak but runs smoothly."

From my early days, I have had patient responses from developers to my (quiet) inquiries and requests to support for guidance. Particularly when I was specific, gave examples and context, provided screenshots, and after I learned how to attach files.

We'll see!

Dale Murphy just hit a 595 ft homer. You read that right. This is at a version of Muehlebach Field where I had edited the dimensions to this: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/m6kwk...02ls0mzo9&dl=0

The deepest points are 460 and 452 feet, each with a 33 ft wall.

So maybe I need to edit the 3d model itself and not the Ballpark Dimensions?

And another one. Ron Cey 514 ft in a modified Shibe Park. Modified so its deepest measurements are 448 ft to CF and 405 to LCF.

Any guesses? I've never messed around with the 3D Models, but if that's where I need to go, I will.

Before randomly editing the parks, I'd love to hear from a dev or someone who actually knows this stuff. Hoping it's something like as long as no fence is more than 410 feet away, you should be fine or whatever. But I suspect it's deeper in there.

The text DB contains a normal HOMERUN category and a HOMERUN_MONSTER category. Is the latter being triggered (by mistake) too often? I don't know. And I don't know how homerun distance is determined when the MONSTER category is used.
