download difficulties

I am playing MLB Manager 2015 nearing the end of 20 virtual seasons. Out of nowhere the boxscores are inaccurate, showing games that were played weeks ago. I exit out of the game and try and restart it.
Instead of the game coming on like it has hundreds of times, a message box appears. It says "Confirm data download. In order to continue we need to download essential data from our servers. Please ensure you are connected to the internet."
I hit download now and it slowly downloads. But when it finishes at 100%, it says downloading error, please check you have enough space.
I am using an Android Nextbook with 22.5 MB available.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Well 22.5 mb is barely anything, so I'd suggest deleting some apps you don't need. Other than that, I don't know.

do some cleanup activity. sometimes free space is even less than what is showed. If you still can't download update, manually sideload apk from Download apk on PC, free apk files to download on PC - choilieng.com (copy app url from play store and generate apk)
