After three: Cleveland 0 Chicago 0. In the bottom of the fourth, Hoy scored from third when Mertes grounded to third and the White Sox had broken the scoreless tie. In the top of the sixth, Pickering tied the game with a sacrifice fly. The Blues went on to load the bases with two out. But McCarthy flew to center to retire the side. After six: Cleveland 1 Chicago 1. In the bottom of the seventh, Sullivan brought home a run with a double to give the White Sox the lead once again. The White Sox went on to load the bases with one out. Moore struck out Hartman and there was two away. But Hoy and McFarland each drew a five-pitch walk to bring home a pair of runs. Then, Scheibeck flubbed a Mertes grounder and another run scored. Finally, Isbell lined back to the pitcher to end the inning but not before the White Sox had batted around the order. In the top of the ninth, McCarthy scored from third when Scheibeck grounded to second to close out the scoring. The Blues committed three errors in the loss. Final score: Chicago 5 Cleveland 2.
