The Road To The Perfect Team World Championship!

The Road To The Perfect Team World Championship!

We are thrilled to announce the next generation of Out of the Park Baseball Perfect Team competition. Everyone is invited – all skill levels and all player types – and there are no time-based signups or special rules. Everyone can participate simply by playing Perfect Team 23!

We have combined and enhanced our previous ‘esports’ competitions – the Perfect Team Championship Series and the Perfect Team Master Series – to be inclusive of all players with no need to sign up or register. In addition, these competitions – which yield great rewards on their own – build over the course of the entire year to the first-time-ever Perfect Team World Championship. This live, head-to-head competition pits players managing against each other for the first time ever in real time for ultimate prizes and glory.

It all starts Monday, May 30 with the beginning of leaderboards and standings. We will no longer have a signup period to join these tournaments for great prizes. Instead, it will all be based on in-game performance through a qualifying structure. Please note that in-game tracking of the leaderboards and standings will be included in a game patch scheduled for early June. Prior to that patch, the leaderboards will be tracked manually and will be available via our forums and Discord channel.

No more Saturday morning signups! If you play, you get in!

How do you participate?

Easy. Just play Perfect Team!

There are four ‘categories’ that will have leaderboards and standings over the course of a scheduled set of time. They are:
1. All Weekly Tournaments (likely capped at 21 total)
2. All Weekly Perfect Drafts (currently at 14)
3. All Daily Perfect Drafts
4. Ten Daily Tournaments (all cap related as the “Cap Decathlon”)
a. Daily Iron Cap
b. Daily Bronze Cap
c. Daily Bronze Floor Cap
d. Daily Silver Floor Cap
e. Daily Gold Floor Cap
f. Daily Gold Historical Cap
g. Daily Low Diamond Cap
h. Daily Open Low Cap
i. Daly Open Medium Cap
j. Daily Open High Cap

There is a point structure based on the order of finish for each tournament and Perfect Draft:

Points for standings (128 teams or more) - Weeklies
a. 1st – 25 points
b. 2nd – 20
c. 3rd-4th – 15
d. 5th-8th – 10
e. 9th-16th – 6
f. 17th-32nd – 3
g. 33rd-64th – 1
h. 65th-128th or 256th – 0

Points for standings (64 teams) - Dailies
a. 1st – 20 points
b. 2nd – 15
c. 3rd-4th – 10
d. 5th-8th – 6
e. 9th-16th – 3
f. 17th-32nd – 1
g. 33rd-64th – 0

At the end of each week, the points are tabulated for each category, and the top prizes are as follows:

Prizes for the Top 10
a. 1st – 50,000 PP
b. 2nd – 35,000 PP
c. 3rd-4th – 25,000 PP
d. 5th-10th – 15,000 PP

After the end of each week, once all competitions are complete and the final calculations have been completed, the winners will receive their prizes.

But that’s just the beginning!

The semifinalists of each of these tournaments will qualify for a combined Perfect Team Masters Series!

The all-new Perfect Team Masters Series

The first PTMS will take the PTCS semifinalists from the first four periods - 16 teams from each period for a combined 64 teams. The first PTMS will occur on a date to be determined in October.

The second PTMS will take the PTCS semifinalists from Periods 5-8 at a date to be determined in February.

The all-new Perfect Team World Championship

Oh wait! There’s more!

The winner of the first PTMS will compete against the team that has won Perfect League the most times (or the team with the most Perfect League wins as a tiebreaker) in the Perfect Team World Championship (PTWC), a live head-to-head matchup streamed on the OOTP Developments Twitch channel in late fall.

The winner of that matchup will defend the PTWC title in the new year against the winner of the second PTMS.

All of these tournaments will have fantastic prizes at stake. And! The top 10 teams in the all-time rankings will get a free copy of OOTP 24.

Just a friendly reminder that leaderboard tracking goes live today! Best of luck to everyone on the first day of tournament leaderboards!

PlayBall2022 05-30-2022 03:39 PM

The Daily Cap tournaments that count, are only the 64 team variety, correct? There are some 32 team Cap tournaments with the same names, but I assume those don't count?

PlayBall2022 05-30-2022 03:41 PM

... if so, there are a number of 64 team daily cap tournaments that aren't filling up currently.

Yes, that is correct. I'm not certain which ones are 32 right now, but unless they were supposed to fire today and moved to quicks, those ones don't count. Otherwise, all of the Daily Cap tournaments listed count from here on in, regardless of if they're 64-team or cut down to 32.

PlayBall2022 06-02-2022 05:45 PM

Are the points standings available to be viewed anywhere yet? I'm very interested in this Tournament points option and have been trying to play games that I believe will count. I know the tournament rankings in the site aren't up yet... but, are the point standings available on the boards anywhere, etc?

I just noticed I'm in this tourney. Did I earn this, or is everyone in one of these? Thanks!

Congratulations to the 16 teams who made it to the Perfect Team Master Series in today's second PTCS tournament!

Special congrats to the Houston Slump Busters, Durham Los Toros, GKT GKT, and the Winnipeg GoJetsGo for winning their PTCS routes and the PTCS Exclusive Clayton Kershaw card!

A note: Due to the Underground Turtlebears (4th place in Daily Traditional) already clinching a PTMS spot in the last PTCS, the PTMS spot from that tournament went to 5th place. 5th place in the tournament was determined by the final standings from PTCS Period 2 among the 5th-8th place teams in the Daily Traditional. This will be the way we will determine a PTMS spot(s) if the situation arises again in a future PTCS.

Here were the results:

Besaid Aurochs: 11th
Wichita Wranglers: 24th
South Orange Village Villiagers: 53rd
SF PeachKings: 90th
