Schedule completed
I have created 3 versions of this schedule.
Schedule 1: each team plays either 6H/4A or 4H/6A, but due to the number of opponents being an odd number the teams play either 26H/24A or 24H/26A. A flipped version of the file was created so that you have 50H/50A after the second season.
Schedule 2: each team will play 6H/6A against 2 opp, 4H/4A against 2 opp and 5H/5A against 1 opp. This will bring the home/away series for each team to 25H/25A. A flipped version was created so all teams will be at 10H/10A after the second series. 3 series (but only a total of 3 games) were changed to be a home/away series.
Schedule 3: each team plays 5H/5A against each opponent. This means that the schedule is 25H/25A as well as being 5H/5A against individual opp. No flipped version needed as everyone plays everyone the same number of games home and away. The only down side is that this schedule required a total of 15 games to be changed to a home/away series. 300 games are played a season so it is a small percentage of the total number of games.
I rank them how I would prefer to play them as:
1. Schedule 2 even though it requires the flip
2. Schedule 3 I don't like have a H/A series but it is a good trade off to have only 1 schedule.
3. Schedule 1 some players would not want to have a different number of total home and away games but there are no split H/A series. Also requires a flip schedule.
A cool thing would also use them all changing in each year and you get a good mixture of matchups, with it all averaging out after all 5 have been played.
I kind of like these schedules for a short season A league or a college league (although 6 months is long for a college league)
