1888 CENTRAL INTERSTATE LEAGUE

Teams:

Bloomington (IL)
Crawfordsville (IN) Hoosiers
Danville (IL) Browns
Davenport (IA)
Decatur (IL)
Dubuque (IA)
Peoria (IL) Reds
Rockford (IL)

BR also lists Lafayette (IN) and Terre Haute (IN) as having teams in this league. They may have joined later or replaced existing clubs.

Schedule Characteristics:

SCHEDULE type="ILN_BGY_G112_T8_C_" inter_league="0" balanced_games="1" games_per_team="112" start_month="5" start_day="1" start_day_of_week="3"

Teams play 112 games. Teams play each other 16 times.

Season starts on May 1 and ends on October 1. Weekday games start at 3:00. Weekend games start at 1:00. Holiday (Decoration Day (5/30) and Independence Day (7/4)) double-headers start at noon and 3:00. Sunday games only at Davenport, Dubuque, and Peoria.

Not to be confused with the Interstate League (which BR does), a series of leagues in the first half of the 20th century centered around Pennsylvania. The Central Interstate League lasted only three seasons, but can be regarded as a precursor to the Three-I League.
